There are several attractive, easily accessible DOC camp sites in the valley located as marked on the attached map. These offer basic facilities - river water, pit toilets, and some barbeque areas. (see also short walks for information about each area)

Okahu Camping Area
Mid Okahu Hut Area
Okahu Road End

There is also a site for camping without facilities beside the Whirinaki River as you aproach Te Whaiti from Murupara.
